We are pleased to announce that the courts will be reopen from Wednesday 2nd December. The UK will be reverting to the tiered restrictions and Wolverhampton have been placed into Tier 3 following the national lockdown.
As we only have outdoor courts, these restrictions are largely the same as before the latest lockdown; social tennis limited to groups of 6, larger groups are permitted for adult and junior organised activities including member-led mix-ins, coaching, and inter/intra-club matches/ competitions. Spectators (other than one parent/guardian for Juniors) are not permitted, there should be no socialising linked to any activity, and travel restrictions into or out of the area apply. Our understanding of this means that any members living in Shropshire or Telford/Wrekin (Tier 2) should avoid travel to the courts.
Social distancing and use of sanitiser and other hygiene protocols that we are now used to, should also be followed.
The LTA have produced a summary of the restrictions by tier which can be found here – LTA Guidelines from Wednesday 2nd December 2020
It’s been a long 4 weeks, we hope everyone is safe and well, and look forward to seeing you back on court.
